Board Elections and Mask Wearing Term 3 2022

Kia ora Netherby School Community.

I trust you are all well. The break is coming to an end and I assume your children are keen to get back to school, mine certainly are.

In Term 3 the Ministry of Health highly recommends mask wearing for students Yr. 4 and above for the first four weeks of term. We send this message, but ultimately like many schools in our area and afar, leave the call up to you, as in it is optional to wear a mask until mandated. For more information on masks please visit the Ministry of Health websites.

Tip For Parents

Give your child every opportunity to read to you daily. Ten minutes of reading five times a week = 50 minutes of reading time a week.

If you did this for a minimum of 35 weeks a year we have your child engaging in text for 29 hours extra every year! That 29 hours helps your child read better because they do more miles, are exposed to many words, and importantly are exposed to many ideas through the text.

It is a win - win for all concerned!
