NZSTA - School Board Elections

Morena Ashburton Netherby School Community. This year is the NZSTA Board elections year. This email is just a heads up to start thinking about if you would like to stand for election as a School Board member. Further information can be found here. https://www.education.govt.nz/school/boards-information/boards-of-schools-and-kura/board-elections/triennial-school-board-elections-2022/

Of course, if you want to talk more about being on the School Board, you should speak to any of our current board members, Sarah and Nathan Bartlett, Amber Winter, Jenny Doak, or Samantha Halafihi.

Have a think or speak to someone else in the community whom you think would be great on the School Board. Look out for the election papers and further information here and in our newsletter.

Tip For Parents

Give your child every opportunity to read to you daily. Ten minutes of reading five times a week = 50 minutes of reading time a week.

If you did this for a minimum of 35 weeks a year we have your child engaging in text for 29 hours extra every year! That 29 hours helps your child read better because they do more miles, are exposed to many words, and importantly are exposed to many ideas through the text.

It is a win - win for all concerned!
