Welcome back.  We trust you had a great school break and fabulous Christmas. It was nice to see the children bounce back into school, eager to be with their friends and to be in their new classrooms.  The teachers have worked hard preparing the classrooms to be inclusive and rich learning environments over the last week, despite both Rooms 1 and 2 having to work around building renovations.

A thank you note to commend both teachers and children on returning to school with the public health mask-wearing order.  I was in class on Tuesday teaching Room 1 and as a result, got an insight into just how difficult it is to operate this way. Well done to the Yr. 4 - 6 children and teachers who are doing their best during this difficult time.

Despite the pandemic, we are in for a great year ahead at school.

Tip For Parents

Give your child every opportunity to read to you daily. Ten minutes of reading five times a week = 50 minutes of reading time a week.

If you did this for a minimum of 35 weeks a year we have your child engaging in text for 29 hours extra every year! That 29 hours helps your child read better because they do more miles, are exposed to many words, and importantly are exposed to many ideas through the text.

It is a win - win for all concerned!
