Whānau Hui date change 'Tuesday 5th March now!'

Kia ora koutou Whānau. We have a Whānau Hui Meeting scheduled for Tuesday 5th March from 3.15 in the school staffroom. (Please not the date change as a few key members were unable to make the previous date. We apologise if this has inconvenienced anyone). All parents and caregivers who identify as Māori are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting to have a voice in Netherby School's educational direction for your tamariki. There is a very loose agenda starting with a karakia and then some talking together to establish a future direction. Kai and refreshments on offer. Be great to see you all here. Principal

Tip For Parents

Give your child every opportunity to read to you daily. Ten minutes of reading five times a week = 50 minutes of reading time a week.

If you did this for a minimum of 35 weeks a year we have your child engaging in text for 29 hours extra every year! That 29 hours helps your child read better because they do more miles, are exposed to many words, and importantly are exposed to many ideas through the text.

It is a win - win for all concerned!
